I had Nickerson do a 1050 for my 540 last year. The engine was new so I cant say if I picked up by his carb work. But, I can say that the engine idled great, plugs were perfect, all I did was set the idle speed. When the engine was on the dyno, the fuel curve was almost perfect right out if the box. Even the dyno operated was impressed.

Thanks Dean and Brad.

Similar scenario. Added a B&M 250, Dean supplied the cam and did the carb. Perfect plugs and idle. No problems in 300 hours.

I didn't pick up MPH but did get better idle quality and my transom soot was gone. This was a Blower motor application.
Two years later, I had him do my NA carb. Holley 1050. I had starting issues when engine was hot. I sent it back to him, over a year later. Apparently, there has been some isolated problems with metering blocks leaking internally, which could cause fuel leakdown. This is a rare occurence, according to Dean.
He swapped out metering blocks and float bowls, ran it on his dyno. Sent it back just two weeks ago. No charge, not even shipping. Will have to wait until spring to see if it checks out.
I'm not worried. The man stands behind his work.

He is currently doing mine for my new 700 hp NA application. Using 1050's. I will see how they perform soon.

I'll keep this simple....you can't go wrong with Nickerson....used him numerous times and know others who have also used him. In my opinion, theres nobody better.
