Default Powder coating peeling off??

These vents are only one year old. The powder coat is coming off in big pieces, discolored and pitting the aluminum. Anybody have this problems before?

Hmmm...that's where I bought these vents from too.

It started out discoloring around the screws. I thought it might of been a disimilar metal thing?

If its not something that Fred can take care of, I took some things to get powder coated to a local shop in Hollywood MD. They are called Ship Point Machine, they do alot of military work, but they do private work on the side, motorcycle parts, boat parts, a little of everything. Cant remeber the guys last name, but his first name was Chip.

Take them to local body shop. Use Metal-Lock DuPont paint. We did all custom alum fuel tanks on new Peterbilts. Holds up better. I had my white, peeling, powder-coated rails re-done with Metal Lock.

They where not cured correct or preped well. I would ask for replacements or have them redone.
