Default Gaffrig Control Help?

I need info on how to or if it is possible to disassemble the shifter on the gaffrig controls in a 1996 Fountain. Mine seems to have bound up, but only shifting to reverse. Forward is fine, but going to reverse about half way it stops like something is jammed in the shifter. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Before you do that go thru the process of elimination. Disconnect the cable from your linkage in the engine compartment. Maybe the cable from the linkage to the drive.

I already disconnected the cable at the linkage in the back. even with the cable disconnected the shifter shifts easily into forward and neutral but the problem occurs only in reverse. The control will travel half way and stop almost like it is hitting something.

Have you tried disconnecting the cable from the shifter itself? Is this the original shifter that was factory installed? Have you adjusted the tension set screw? Depending on what you find, I many have the parts necessary to repair your unit.
