Angry Oil leaking Bravo One

I have a bravo one Drive that is slightly leaking oil out the low water pick up. I change the seals between the upper and lower cases but no luck. Any ideas

Did you change all three seals? The two Orings and the quad seal? I usually take a bit of Merc's sealant and put it in the groove for the oring in the water passage and the quad seal. Then put them in the grooves. I havent had any leak, so long as they were setting flat and the old glue was removed prior to reapplying it.

One thing I do when I have a leaker is water test them. After I assemble a drive, I psi test them to 12psi. If the gauge leaks down in 24hrs I start looking for the leak. If I can not find it.. I will take my garden cart (that I pull with my lawn tractor) and put a piece of plastic in it for a liner. I then fill it with water and put the drive in it.. With the drive pressurized I can see the source of the leak and go after it from there. Of course you can use any tub that will hold the entire drive and do the same thing.

Hope this helps

Dick

Dick, Thank you for answering

I did use weather stip adhesive on the lower unit but i don't believe i used it on the upper unit. Is merc's sealant more like silicone?
By the way I did change all three seals.
should I have used the sealant on both upper and lower units?
The leak seams to be small but the last time out I did see some water in the oil. when I drained the oil it was very little. I still hope this could be the seals between the units.

The weather strip adhesive is just as good as Mercs, and it isnt a silcon base.. The super weather strip adhesive is black. The regular adhesive is brown like the merc stuff..
I only put in on one side to hold the orings in place. If the mating surface is smooth (no paint chips) and clean it should seal.

You dont want any water in the oil.. that is a bad thing!!
