Yes, it should say V8-_ _. The _ _ is the amount of advance built into the module.

BTW, you should not get shocked turning the distributor with the engine running, but I have had it happen. Its not a huge jolt though.

You will want intial timing at idle at 10* with that module. At full advance at 3700rpms it will be at 34* total.

First thing to do is get it to fire and stay running. Turn the distributor in in small increments until it fires and will stay running.

If it is time to start then I will have to wait until tomorrow because my neighbors will FREAK. Also one thing that I noticed about this intake versus the older one is that stock one had a shelf sort of with grooves in it. It looks like the fuel would hit that and then go into the cylinder versus the new Merlin intakes look like they just go down the long port right into the cylinder it does not have a shelf. Will that cause it to flood easier?

If Alamo did exactly as you instructed I would bet the engine lights up and runs.

The situation where I dealt with a lost engine was due to the distributor being placed off by I'm not sure how many teeth. The timing had been set to what they thought was 10 BTDC. With the distributor off that far and the timing off, it detonated under load. I didn't specify this in my earlier post.

As far as not being able to be off a tooth or being able too, it has been a while since I actually did all of this in person. Thanks for the clarification Griff! It's always good to have someone around to keep things straight.
