Converting Stainless Marine wet to dry???

Raylar, Bob at Full Throttle , Tyler Crockett and others have seen and can demonstrate in actual engine testing that water being introduced in the exhaust path prior to the actual transom tip can and will drop horsepower anywhere from 15-25HP versus just a dry exhaust on most 496 models.
I'm going to be welding extensions onto mine here in a few days to make them dry all the way into the middle of the tips.

I talked with Jerry at Stainless today, and he said $300 per side plus the trim kits. As someone else mentioned I'm sure the material is the bulk of the cost.
The main reason I'm doing it, is that I'm getting some reversion and I need to alleviate that. We're gonna try running the pipes through the transom and introducing the water at the very end which will add about 10-12" over what I have now. Plus it keeps it a little quieter than full dry, and I can keep the flappers on it.
Doing it this way also makes for a very simple modification if I'm still getting the reversion, by welding the water dumps off and drilling a hole in the outer pipe.
