I changed my seals last year when I got the boat out. Didn't leak a drop all summer. leaked down over the winter. For a 1/2 gal of anti-freeze its not enough for me to worry about. Just fill it in the spring.
Thats good advise from Ray though to crack the cap. It makes sense
