Could be. It should have a 160* Tstat and run at 160-175*.

I dont think 170 is a problem.What temp does water boil at?212

Not a huge problem, but its definately an indicator of something. It is running 25-30* higher than the tstat.

After re-rereading, I see that the idle temp is high also. If thats the case, disregard plugging the top holes on the drive. They would be completely submerged and throws the sucking air theory out the window.

There is a water flow issue or an obstruction somewhere.

Fixed- bad sending units. Both running 150 on temp guage.
