Biggest HP on pump gas?

The best supercharger ever made by whipple is the R980.
It is Funny how anyone who wants to make big power
uses PSI.
Guys Like Dave Scott, Tom Byrd, Barry Z. Mike D.
When refering to the PSI the only one is the 206b
12lb cut.
But you know that.
Roger says he loves you to by the way.
Its good to see that Dustin is still his number one fan
Didnt your boy Mikey have them r980,s on the xxx when he went to SC to meet reggie. wanna guess what sc reggie had?

[QUOTE=Whipple Charged;2743265]Keith,
Here's some approx. numbers for your setup, using the 305R supercharger and not knowing your cam duration, compression ratio or the state of your current supercharger (estimates with good, refreshed 1471 standard helix), your KUHL (not KOOL) carb adapter and slight adjustment to the tuning since it will be on the rich side on top:
8psi = 60hp
10psi = 80hp
14psi = 140hp (carbs are too small and IC is small, will have 2+psi above IC core and 2"+ of vacuum above SC)
Also note, because of cooler air charge temps, you may be able to gain a touch more with 36-38deg's timing. You'll also have better idle quality, excellent distribution and approx. 10% better fuel economy on average.
Kool looks better
Duration intake 288 exhuast 294
Comp Ratio 8:4
Msd ignition CMI big tubes
2.300 intake valves 1.900 exhaust manley
PSI springs 340 on the seat.
T&D shaft rockers
Two piece valve covers with oilers
Aries pistons oliver rods 6.700 long
titian oil pump Nice Piece
100 square on the carbs & power valves open all the time
Intercooler has its own feed ,the old pick up that fed the engine before the transom pic ups were installed
Amsoil series 2000 20-50wt
NGK plugs #9 10 mm wires
My timing is fixed
Fel pro SS layered head gaskets look just like Cometics .0035 Thic
My drive guy compares wear to shafts and gears as the same as 1200 mercs ok then
Thanks Dustin for your time I know many on here appreciate your feed back even though I may not allways agree. Its all good

Good lord......this took a downhill turn in a hurry.
All I can say is this.....I have the option to run ANY supercharger in the world on my engines. Most customers could really care less what they get as long as it is reliable and makes the power that they paid for. I have pretty much used all of the superchargers out there(roots, PSI, procharger, Vortech, etc). I use Whipples on about 95% of the engines I build. I have used them all.. single 3.3, 2.3 quad, 3.3 quad, 5 liter and I love every one of them. The only time I dont use a Whipple is when the customer absolutely wants something else or already has something else. I still try to talk them out of it. If I had my choice, every SC engine I build would get a Whipple. Nothing matches the drivability and longevity. We could argue about which blower makes the most power, but on myu stuff I haven't seen one top a Whipple yet. Keep doing what you're doing Dustin.
Keith,
I know its a bunch of money, but it is worth every penny. That's all I know to tell you dude. You've known me long enough to know that I would not bs you or steer you wrong.
If you're happy with what you have, keep it and run the snot out of it. If your wanting a little more, this is an excellent option.
Yall play nice!

No Billy AJ wont be using his skater till the spring poker runs.
After running the last 2 years including Sarasota twice, Jacksonville twice, loto twice, key west twice, royal purple twice, patriot once, ticfaw twice, st pete once, emral coast twice, Miami boat show islamarada once, and all that after the engines came out of his 36 the year before. After 145 hours we have both engines out and apart, good timing because we have one broken lifter, not bad for solid rollers.
He can always use his eliminator to run around here
It will be a fine day in the Skater Nation when all Skater brothers can be so successful

There are many ways to define success, If you are happy with what you have done with your boating experience I would call that a success.Some people like screw blowers some like roots some may like a chain driven centrifugal blower, or no blower at all. Use what ever you want or can afford and be happy. Me personally I would use Dustins stuff on every supercharged engine we build, Check around we have done a few.
