ok quick question ..... im building a 502efi with a whipple side mount 2.3. its a 94 block so its non roller, but im putting in the roller conversion, and aluminum heads. anyways every body says the crane 741 is a great cam ..... so is this the 139741 or 168741 cause i cant find on there website..... my engine builder wants to take a look at the cam specs and i need to give him the part number. he recommended a 502/502 cam so i want to show him another option. or would the 502/502 work better. idk help me haha. thanks

I agree. Bob Madara of Marine Kinetics in N.Y....he will take all of your engine components, type/weight of boat, and design a cam profile and will custom fit it to your application. He has been doing it for several years and has helped many here on OSO for years.

168741 is the 741 cam. it has a 112 lobe separation. the merc 525efi cam is the same but with 114 lobe sep. the 114 has a better idle and would be better for a blower. you will have to call crane if you want 741 with a 114 lobe sep.
