So what % Toluene would raise 89 octane fuel to 93 octane?

Robert,

5:1 (20%) Toluene will elevate 89 (R+M)/2, to 93.166 (R+M)/2 octane. The math on determining the ratio is fairly simple. Rather than attach a spreadsheet, I have a conversion sheet that was sent to me for original octane vs. blended octane w/ toluene below. It can be printed and used in the field.

Bob,

Thanks! I guess another question would be what is the minimum octane I would need with 8.75:1 CR, iron heads and 5 lbs of boost? I know it runs fine on 93 octane on the dyno. Don't mean to hijack the thread here .

$7.25 a gallon is Insane BIG Daddy , we pay $200.00 a drum and pick up 10 to 12 barrels at a time . Buy a 10.00 box of business cards and open a commercial account at Sherwin Williams under Daytona Painting Co ... they may be qouting you off the street prices.. good luck
