Then, the newly assigned password and key are sent back to Merc for relation to the phone number listed for the said Merc Dealer.

From here, they will do extreme diligence to verify that you are in fact using it as a Mercury Certified Repair Facility and if they find out anything in the middle that doesn't line up, you'd be out the expense of the third party software.
This is assuming you bought the "basic kit" which does not include the pre-installed laptop and everything else. You would have to jump through every hoop before you could get them to send you the whole system..
Your right I think I remember jim up north speed talking thru some of that. LOL

Right now I am off on a work injury fell off a boat, So I found this place to hang out for now, [LOL] But when I am there it's the cobalt, fourwinns dealer in corona.

Sux. Good luck with injury. I've actually invisioned falling off my boat on the ramp with no one around. Scares me. Pretty easy to die that way.

i've fallen out of a 24' bayliner doin a motor swop i grabbed the wrong chain an just started free spoolin backwards an bit it hard. lol i felt like an idiot when i finally got up an waited a min

lol no, shortly after i finally switched to non-slip shoes. it was pretty hilarious though if you had seen it cuz i fell straight back and landed flat on my back
