Not sure, it's just what he uses on all his motors. He thought Mobil had cheapened their oil over the years and didn't think much of it anymore. He'd rather me run Amsoil than Mobil. But he broke in the motor on the Brad Penn break in oil, and then put's the 20W-50 semi syn in after that.

Thanks Kurt! Seems like you can never have enough information...What is Mobil 1 leaving out of their oils now?

Kurt, I cannot open the zip file. It is saying that the file is compressed or corruped.

Seems like the zipped file is empty...perhaps if you have a moment you can type the results for us?

M-1 15W-50 SilverCap is a real good product with 1200 ppm ZDDP; it is a Grade III/IV blend they say now (Group III is legally a "synthetic" these days). The 15W-50 GoldCap is PAO Grade IV..... If you change your oil frequently don't sweat it.

M-1 V-Twin 20W-50 is a PAO and has 1400+ of ZDDP...also excellent corrosion inhibitors for prolonged storage.

PAO synthetics now go for close to $ 8-10/qt.
