How much water presure is to much ?

I used a block drain for the gauge, I have no oil cooler we run on pretty small lakes and oil temp has never been an issue. So I should install a t after the sea water pump with a relief valve to dump overboard, what size line ? I have one of those brass ones from teage

Smooth,
We closed down the water pick up slot in the IMCO lower (welded). My suggestion is to use some Bondo/epoxy at the front of the slot until you get the pressure at about 15 lbs, then weld to match.

We agree with Ben, 15# is a good number. The head gaskets will be happier. In fact, the typical radiator has a 15# cap.
The block drain cock and head gaskets see a similar pressure.
Subject to build tolerances, some like to see maximum volume, cold as possible @ 15# .
