Default Merc 600SCi, Noise reduction

Hello,

I need your advise:

I want to have a single engine boat built with a Mercury 600SCi.

What kind of switchable mufflers would you use? Once switched on they really should get the engine calm.

Are there other possibilities you would suggest?
Merc's XHaust is way too expensive...

Thanks for your help,
Heiko

i wouldn't use a switchable exhaust with that horsepower. it would only be good at idle. I used CMI's sound advantage clamp on mufflers and they worked great.

I wouldn't say quiet at idle, but they do help. Probably 5 db or so quieter at idle.
