I thought these were more of a fuel/water seperator than a fuel filter.

I didn't check #'s why I was asking. I've got a small inline one on back of intake on mine it's strictly fuel filter. If he's paying 35.00 for a fuel water seperator I'm in the wrong business. I pay about 6.00 a piece for Merc.

Fram HP series filters are ok. Basic fram filters are junk. But the original question was about fuel filters.

I realize that, but some of the posts seem to question the quality of all Fram products.

High Performance engines need the proper balance of flow to filtration.

A racing engine in a race needs a full flow filter to trap "bowling balls". Four micron filters in this application will restrict oil flow and toast an engine. Yes...lots of "orange cans" on racing engines for this reason as we all know.

An expensive Mercury engine deserves an oil filter that filters and flows well I think.

K&N/WIX/NAPA-GOLD and of course the Mercury Racing all have what it takes and very importantly have enclosures that will not likely burst due to a poor shell or too much internal filter pressure...yes it happens..... and can ruin an engine.

High Performance engines and microfiltration and potential oil starvation must at all costs be avoided. It will ruin your day!
