Default fram fuel filter for 525

looking around for the fuel filter for my 525 I have been amazed of the cost & no cross reference for it . I found the fram g3727 is the exact replacement size wise . its a 10 micron filter . Anyone know if the mercuriser is a 10, 50 or 100 micron filter ?

I think the filter is one in the same, the fram filter had a recall & so did the mercruiser .

price on the fram is 10$ cheapest i have found the mercruiser is 35 all the way up to 65

I wouldn't even use Fram for my winter storage filter.

Go with the Wix. You can get them at Napa, and if you buy a handful they will knock the price down a few bucks.

I buy by the case and split with a buddy. You can get the prices down to about $6-7. Check EBay.

I think that you may have that backwards. I believe they mean it will filter down to 4 microns which is smaller than 10 microns.

But the Wix is the only one with the anti-drainback valve IIRC; preventing dry start up.

Not trying to be a smart ass but you should not comment on what you dont know . It can be very misleading ..

Read up on micron sizing ! you are 100% wrong ..

the way i gather it is the filter will trap down to a 4 size micron spec of dirt, with that being said fram will trap a 10 micton piece of dirt..4 is smaller then 10 so i would have to say wrong...

read and look at the chart..
