Low rpm, blower engine, I suggested lower duration which is common as blower engines don't need a lot of time as they are forcing air in, and at the end I said the only real way to know is to pull the heads and flow them and see what is going on.

i dont have a dog in this fight but have fixed engines with cstraub "cam picks" and it wasnt a pretty sight for the customer that was prommised performance and got a slower boat. if you dont own a boat or havent actualy built performance BOAT engines with proven increases in power you have no business putting your 2 cents in at a customers expence...hopefully someone will warn your new customers of your past transactions before they waste their hard earned money

So that cam you ground worked and did not have this issue. This is simply about the fact that you won't even acknowledge the fact that it may be the camshaft causing this problem. All the facts are pointing there at this point in time...just say...hey it's possible and we'll let it play out. But chucking everyone else under the bus is not very nice. Now the dyno guys getting chucked under. I've seen failures and this would be an odd one to consistently have the same dyno failure so as to constitute a major jet change on every carb bolted onto that engine. Of course it'll go that fast, but it has issues that are being crutched...thats what we're talking about here. Just step up, admit you're human like all of us and our summation is possible and I'm good with you. The guys that won't admit they're wrong or at least theres a possibility, moments later their tool kit is flying out the race car trailer door and they are on the first plane back home. I've seen that guy. Don't be that guy. Just say its possible and we're good. What if all three carbs from these different suppliers were actually bad...I'd step up and apologize for my carb in the mix. But I didn't blame the engine combo until I heard the facts on the other carbs. It looks like I am about over this flu...so I'll be back to work full time tomorrow..I'll try to stop in once in awhile to see how things are going in here. Thanks for the kind E mails and the welcomes everyone Patrick James PRO SYSTEMS |

Typical of your mission, why dont you also post that customer that owned the engine put a bone stock 850 BG on the engine during the same dyno test and the engine ran fine. So yes you are probably right, my cam likes Barry Grant and hates Pro Systems. So it decided to run bad with his carb. On a side note i had 2 of his WD customers contact me and saying they could not believe he was blaming the camshaft. I've cammed many cars since then with his carbs and they have all run fine. That customer has stayed in contact and that full size 56 with air runs 11's. I actually think it is kinda wierd you follow me all around the internet and on these forums. Is business that slow? |

Info's Twin dryer engine, 565CID with 13# is making around 1680 per MPD as she is turning a AA 6800 rpm. |

Typical of your mission.,I actually think it is kinda wierd you follow me all around the internet and on these forums. Is business that slow? Same MO. I helped your offshore customers for a few years trying to help fix there problems which you blamed on them and/or their engine builders which you helped some pick by the way. How much money did you charge a certain someone to make their hopped up ZZ502's make the same power as stock ZZ502's. Kinda weird you have been off this site for how long until now ? And I came back before you did ? Look at the dates. Following you around. LOllllllllllllllllllllllll. You just keep coming back for more. |

Chris, let me add this to your prior post's quote. From Tony Mamo... Quote: PS....the AFR 305's have a fairly high exhaust to intake relationship....I think Chris's cam choice for a mild cruiser was right there. It helped build all the low end TQ this engine generated due to less overlap from an un-necessary earlier exhaust opening. Also would have improved idle quality slightly. I will say this, I do not know a whole lot about building a performance engine. That is why I went with Chris and Pro Systems. What I do know is, right now, the motor is doing just what I told Chris I wanted it to do. Yes, it made only 633hp on the dyno, but, it was on a Stuska Depac dyno. I said I wanted a peak HP at 6200, I have it. I wanted vacuum, I have it. I also know that, for what ever reason, I got that 633hp with the Demon 850, 6 jetting changes or not. Quote: Afterall, you guys did make these parts for a street/strip car with exhaust? This is a street/strip car? Butch, yes, this was what I said I wanted. I will be running a 3" exhaust with mufflers. As far as the exhaust goes, During all the dyno runs, I was running 2" header tubes with a 3" collector through mufflers. Could the fact the dyno's exhaust pipe was loosely put over the collector (not sealed) affect reading? At this point, I am getting in touch with the builder and getting his input on the BSFC #'s in question. Also one more thing, the A/F reading on my dyno sheet in inaccurate becuase there was NO A/F meter used in the dyno runs.... Please note SB that below in the posted what Tony Mamo, AFR head engineer and head designer, about the cam in the engine with the pro systems carbs. |
