As I mentioned in a previous post, the rooster tail illumination behind my boat is 35 feet long when the boat is on-plane at cruising speed... not too shabby. Next year I plan on taking some high def. video from a boat running parallel to mine.

As far as the cost, I had NO plans to spend that much when I started my search for underwater LED lights, (!) but NO other company made purple underwater LED's not to mention all the other colors available at the push of a button.

Also, the fact that I didn't have to drill into my transom to install these lights kind of sealed the deal for me!

Those other brands of LED's mentioned in this thread including the coastals DO look pretty bright and the prices are even better, but unfortunately for me, I had to have purple.

You guys don't have to try to convince me that I'm crazy for spending that kind of $$$ on underwater lights for my boat... I KNOW I'm nuts!

Dude, no doubt on the video, I took some video with my phone of mine and everyone thought, wow, that's not very impressive...then they get on the boat and are amazed. And hey if you have the coin to do it and it meets your needs, don't let us bottom feeders bring you down

If you are happy that's all that matters, and the colors they offer are pretty sweet, I get white, and white, and white, and if the water is REALLY muddy that day a light brown

Have you guys tried the style that bolt directly to the top of trim tabs?

I am suprised with the number of sharp guys on this board with mechanical and/or business experience [in some cases both] no one has designed there own underwater lights? It would really only take a waterproof housing and some good LED's, which I have seen "dirt" cheap from a few offshore suppliers and you could "corner the market", its beyond what I could do, but, just puttin' it out there....

Just a simple case of the "Gotta Have Its". I always tell my wife, you never see a Brinks truck following the hearse.

Not everyone boats at night, and not everyone has trim tabs would be my guess. The trim tab lights seem sweet, but alas, no tabs...yet...

Funny you should say that... my 1st car was a hearse. I'm a 4th generation funeral director and, you're right... I've NEVER seen a Brinks truck in the rear view mirror!

The brightness on red in the water you might not be happy with. If you boat in the ocean it will be better.
Its the color spectrum and water makes that color hard.
