I just ordered a Gaffrig oil temp guage and was wondering where to mount the sender? Before or after the oil cooler? Can I mount it on my remote oil filter mount as I have 2 extra ports on it??
Thanks,
Ken

I suggest you mount the sender after the cooler, make sure your temp pickup is in the oil flow stream for best reading.

After the cooler in the remote oil filter.

In the pan only tells you the temp of the oil in the pan. The more critical reading is oil temp going to the bearings.

If you don't know the temp going to the bearings how do you know your cooler is working at all or working too well?
How do you know you're getting proper viscocity flow?
How do you know water is not condencing back into the oil, instead of being boiled away?

oil temp should be 212 min, 220 idealy and 270 is too hot.

In the pan. You want to know the max temp of your oil.
Gen V has a bung on the port side of the pan. Second choice would be at the remote oil filter housing (if it is BEFORE the cooler where is should be)
