I am also on the fence about adding low water pick up nose cones, I talked to Imco peops & they said without a doubt DO NOT weld the nose cones on. I was told the lower could be distorted & you might not even know it.

Still wondering if i need to gring them to fit all the way on till the upper notch and lower v slot is all the way in or just put them on as they are now i have a 1" gap in the upper notch and lower slot. Also some say fill the cone with epoxy and stuff it on is this the best way. Thanks

This is how I do it and never had any problems. I never do any grinding to the nose cones to make them fit perfect either.

So you fill the cone with epoxy, then epoxy around the edge of cone, smooth out then what do you use over the epoxy to finish,, ive heard all metal works well, also what primer and paint seems to hold up good. Thanks

I use PC7 Marine two part epoxy filler. Ace hardware carries it.
