Default Bravo 1 hose?

I noticed a 1/4 rubber hose coming out inside the transom plate on the port side that appears to have been melted in half by by the exhaust when using silent choice, its not the speedo hose but I dont have a clue where it supposed to go!It looks like its been this way for some time but the boat (96 27 Fountain) runs fine, any idea what it went to?

Lee, there is a valve that connects the drive to the bell housing, then a hose goes to a bulkhead connector on the gimbal. See Bravo diagrams for some pictures
