A friend suggested bad valve guides. Could this be the/part of the problem?

The oil sheen could be fuel. Dont be freaked out . Get the float level checked then the power valves, too much fuel pressure, etc,and monitor the vacuum readings at each 500 rpm. Record what you have and keep digging. The oil pressure will drop when the oil is hot. A straight weight (40 or 50)might be a good choice. Probably the carb. Greg

Question

A valve guide problem ???
What is the logic behind it ? Did you have valve work done ?

This is a real question, not sarcastic, my smiles are not working.
Actually my smillies stopped working the same weekend my motor took a $h!% which appears to be valve related

My brother in law suggested it. He is a mechanic. Yes, I had a "competition" valve job done and new inconel exhaust valves. I guess just something else to ponder.

Im going up to the Cape this weekend and bringing my BICYCLE!
Atleast if anything in the motor breaks you just have to cast it for 6-8wks and BAM your good as new.
