And this is the point I was making earlier in this thread.. Comparing cam specs on the Internet is pointless unless you have more information. You end up with a guy giving you cam specs for a mediocre street engine build. Chris, maybe a disclaimer would be helpful next time you post cam specs that would destroy a typical 700hp marine engine, when posting on a boating site.
You should have put some of your magic horsepower in a bottle in that 540, or maybe some of those rods that add 50hp. Then you would've been getting closer to a decent power level for a street strip 540.

I can't say anything about your machine work since Carl at CNC blocks does it. You do use a qualified machinest for your bottom end machine work. Carl understands tolerances and builds a great engine. It is refreshing to see someone like you sub work out to someone that has some talent.

The OP asked about 700HP 540's. It was a general question and I answered it with general specifications. Now if the poster contacted me then would could get into the details of what is needed to accomplish his goals.

And like one of the EMC engines I cammed in 2013 for Weingartner racing, that cam in that BBC 540 would not be something that would fit in a boat or a street car as it was designed to win a specific competition. Although he did not win he did get the award for most peak HP and torque in the competition.

So ...you posted info on a car build, to get his attention so that he'd contact you ?

Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha

So.....how many posts vs how many name drops are we at now ?

So.....how many times are we gonna here you say peak hp and torque don't matter.....it's all about how flat the power curve is ? Yet, you tought your cam at the EMC got spanked judged on average power / torque within the specified rpm range but yet you boast it made the highest peak hp / torque.

Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha ...You kill me. Good entertainment though.

Go stick that cam in your own boat and let us know how it works out.

Forums are for the exchange of information. I applaud you for trying it yourself with marineperformancetechtalk.com, it's hard to get enough people with different views to exchange ideas. You gave it a good go.

I sold the fountain. It was to much for the small lake I am on so it has gone to the OH river.

Yeah it was like 3 more HP he needed. Maybe this year at EMC.

Chicagoland, you must know Tom with the blown 572 in the tunnel. I cammed that engine 4 or 5 years ago. He runs it on the river up there. Got quite a few up there.

ICDEDPPL 01-29-2014 08:20 PM

Tom that lives under a tunnel near a river? Nope, I prefer to boat in clean water.

Good luck with that. GM & Ford can't do that, but you can. Is that from the HP in the bottle too?

BTW, how come all the threads on your magic juice vanished into thin air? Just like your cam picks. All smoke and mirrors

Bought a 2004 29 fever. 525EFI with 80 hrs on it. Had it for 2 years. Sold it this last fall. Needed something a little more family friendly. Bought a Cobalt 262 in NC about 3 weeks ago.

Haven't had the Rinker for 5 years.

Just to busy Doug. Gotta stay focuses on the engine stuff. I can send you a link to buy some if you like.
I've done some cams for a guy name Robert Horne over in NC.

Yea, IOW, the crap was just what we said it was, and you wish all the posts on that claimed magic HP potion would go away. Why not do a TTT on all the forums that SB listed, as you put that junk on just about all of them, and as you live your life through those forums, just do it in your daily span of PM's trying to drum up business. But hey, maybe you can sell some more Chinese junk heads to some poor uneducated guy using them.

Doug,
As with many of us I look on forum for information. I joined the excursion web site to get an answer to the constant "wander" in the steering on my '03. Found the answer, soft springs installed for soccer moms, answer put F-250 truck springs in it. Same with the Seadoo boat, needed some answers.

The additive is still be sold and used.

On the Patriot heads, yes I sell them and I sell the new owners stuff also, ProMaxx. Jack and Jason Collins have been in drag racing many years. I represent the castings as to what they are and where they came from. I don't represent them as Lunati Cranks and sell the customers Eagle cranks.

These forums are for education. I get asked to come on forums all the time. I may join, answer a question, and that is it. It's funny Scott listed Boatfreaks.org, you yourself banned me from that site years ago when you all got kicked offf another site. I hardly think I can "sell" something on a website I haven't been on in several years.

Bill,
John Fenton, the previous owner of Canfield Heads, was the one that made a comment about your port work, it was not me Bill.

sutphen 30 01-30-2014 08:48 AM

come on liar straub

maybe you want to talk about a cylinder head of canfields, that was destroyed by your cam, dropped a valve.but the best part of the lie is when you said John and you were talking and that I was the one that fixed it.liar that you are,you spred lies about me fixing said head, even though I was in the hospital at the time.and for a fact, canfield was the the one that actually fixed the head.but you spred the lie about me anyway.
as for the cams in those blower motors, again,I was not around to spec them so Tom field a cold call from a con man and let you do them.
boat befoer cams ran 92mph,better heads, cam and such, ran 91mph.nice cams you speced.
