Default alterator on 454 mag help

Trying to get some ideas the alternator keeps not charging replaced 2 alt works great for 5min to 5 hrs with do issue then it stops charging. last fall it stopped working then 2 min before I was putting it on the trailer it started charging again. I have look at the wires nothing looks bad only thing I can think of is a connector. Any other thoughts?

Check the exciter wires. You need 12v at the purple wire for the alternator to charge. Could be corrosion in those bullet connectors

Any updates? I am also having issues with charging on my 1994 Baja 260. I just bought 3 Deka Group 31 AGM cells this season and took the boat out yesterday and at low idle it wanted to die all of a sudden and then could barely turn over. I switched the perko over to share the battery input to be able to start again. I have a feeling something is wrong with the alternator. I have thoughts on buying a MeanGreen high output what are your thoughts?

check your battery cabels for corrosian where the terminals hook to the wire,i have seen that cause problems.

Battery cables are new. Seems to me the alternator has failed after 20 years in the boat. I have ordered a WEI 120 Amp alternator to replace it.
