I plan to run it on 87 octane with projected tip plugs, cast pistons, 210* water stat, and 39* of locked timing. Shooting for an air fuel ratio around 15:1, for good MPG. I am hoping for 650hp at 4000rpm. I really need the midrange cruise
Mild, I'm going to have to spec a 3/4 race cam for that build.
Just my professional opinion...

You guys think 3/4 will give me enough low end ? I want max power between 1200-2400rpm. Don't forget this is a true marine offshore engine

Can I put a ProCharger on my 3.0L? If so, should I step up to a Gen II Alpha or will the Gen I be fine?

no true marine offshore engine is complete unless it has efi, that caddy 2 pot unit should do the job.

I have a 454 with cast internals and 2 bolt main. what do you think about a 268/276 @ .050 108LSA cam? Also, I will be using stock cast iron manifolds with my silent choice and only going to turn 4600 RPM. My builder told me that cam would work great in my application. He's been building engines for 87 years. One of the most respected builders in the whole state. I totally trust him. But, still would like to know if you guys think its ok.

The cam is too small and probably not ground at the right time. I don't know if you guys know it but the stars have to be properly aligned in order to grind a good cam this only happens a couple times a year.
