Yes sir.
Maybe some sensors on the underside of the pistons would be cool. Espcially for the SC and Turbocharged crowd. Anyone smell burnt oil after a hard run ? This can sometimes be from an underisable tune and the pistons getting too hot. The oil splash that hits this area will then get superheated. |

That's really not the right place for a temp. gauge. The pan is the coolest place the oil is going to be!

I'm pretty sure about it. Doesn't the oil return to the pan after the oil coolers?
Most are set up this way: Oil from pan to oil pump to remote filter to oil cooler back into block and then throught out it's journey thru block/crank/cam/etc....all to mostly drain back to pan and get beat up by crank/etc. |

Side clearance from the rods mostly. And mains and some out of lifters. Drains to the pan and starts all over again.
