imo,to make almost 1000hp with a non innercooled 540 with a 8.71 can be done on the dyno for 8 seconds but put it in the boat and it will be all over in no time flat.i sure would like to see the dyno sheet,espically the boost chart.

I think it could be done but your gonna have to spend some money on parts. It will have to be carefully planned out to get there. Will it live? Maybe. I can assure you if you get one bad tank of fuel its done.

All these claims I read wear me out,dynos are great but real world on the water full throttle negate a lot of these inflated claims..just do your homework,because you just spent a ton of money on your pride and joys

Ok engine is a dart big m block brodix cnc heads solid roller bullet cam 871 blower shop fully cnc intake. 2 750 carbs. motor w 6lbs an 34* timing on 93 made shy of 1000. We detuned to 5lbs an 29* timing motor made 909 at 6300 906 at 6000. thats the way its going in boat.

I would suggest to you that a marginal reduction in boost of 1psi may be perceived as a durability asset long term. However a timing reduction from 34º to 29º may end in the liability column.
