Quick fuel uses proform main bodies. They don't make an 830 body.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^correct but a custom carb shop would never lie, espically if they see the chance to make a bunch of money.normally guys send their carb to these carb guru,s because they have very little knoledge of carbs.

rooster, don,t feel bad,you are not the first guy that bought into the smooth talk from one of the carb guru,s.the fact is qft uses the best american made parts in their carbs and are priced fairly.they have a good quality control program and it is rare to see one that has a problem.

It had a few runs on it and I've otherwise been super impressed with it. It was a Buddy's Dad's shop and didn't charge me a thing. I haven't even had a chance to run it yet, so take it all for what it's worth.

not being a smart azz but it kinda looks like you got what you paid for.make sure they give you back any parts they said they replaced because all the components on the quickfuel are billet and way better than cast holley stuff.

The reason someone would send a brand new carb to be gone over by a QUALIFIED carb shop is simple.

You do that to quantify that you have received what you were suppose to.

Same reason it's a good idea to have a qualified individual take apart and quantify brand new, out of the box, cylinder heads.

It does not surprise me in the least that these assembly line produced QFT carbs need looked at.
