Thanks, I remember seeing that too. I'm gonna do more digging. There seems to me multiple threads on like 20+ websites about ticking and other issues from the Morels. When I have time, I'll do some snooping on multiple things.
I do know some versions had problems with oiling to the top end and people had to engrave small lines from oil hole to oiling band. Some versions have the oil hole's entrance partially or fully into the oil band. So....this is something to to check out.
Anybody have a picture of the current BBC lifters (high rpm and the next highest model) showing this regard ? Only set of Morel BBC hr lifters I used was 8-10yrs ago ??? so I don't remember this.

Icdedppl's were in his engines when he got them, so I don't know on those. On mine, I did not clean them out prior to installing. They got primed with 20w50 , and went to the dyno.

I didnt need a replacement ..havent had any issues
Also, icdedppl has ran straight 50 weight with them , as well as 15w50, and 20w50, no collapsed lifters or weird stuff.
Him and i have a decent amount of time on them since 2012, turning around 6k rpm on many occasions in each of our engines , so i cant believe its just "luck". Generally i think they are a good lifter.
