Marine Machine steering cylinder seals

Yeah those pits are going cause it to leak. If they were near and end, no big deal, but they are in the area where the rams will be 90% of the time.

I am happy to say I have a cylinder on its way. Once I get it, if it works, I will have the old one rebuilt and then put it back on the boat and rebuild the other side. Then keep this new one as a backup.
I was unable to get new rods even though they are pretty close to the Mayfair 9” rods. They are a bit shorter.
I did find a hydraulic shop in Syracuse, but the complete cylinder should do the job. I’ll work on the rebuild later or if the cylinder doesn’t fit.
Thanks for everyone’s help. I’ll let you know how it goes once it’s installed.
