Price to have motors pulled?
What should it cost to have two procharged 350's rebuilt and cost of engine removal. Any good suggestions on who I should talk to about doing the rebuilds in the South Texas area?
|
Removal and reinstall of engines runs about 8 hrs of labor per engine.
Cost for rebuilds will greatly depend on what parts are needed. |
Call Eddie Young at Young Matine. You will first class work and advice at a reasonable price. You only want to do this once. From my experience, do it right or don't do it at all. It is a 10 hr drive to Eddies, drop the motors, have dinner and drive back the next day.

G and G in Tomball gets great reviews from a large HP customer base, Been around a long time with good reputation. (rebuild only no engine pulling).
Good Luck. |
It depends on the boat. Pulling a pair of motors out of a 28 Sonic vs. a 39 Top Gun are RADICALLY different experiences.
|
So $750 to remove and $750 to reinstall is a bit much? That's per motor
|
who quoted that?
The first one may be tight but the second should have no issues with working room and come out very easily I got mine ready and have a friend in Magnolia with a 14' pedestal swing hoist to remove/install @ $100. He is available for hire. |
Closer to $2k with no issues!
|
Typical side by side offshore boat I get $1000 to r&r one, $1500 for both. That's typical stock Mercury bravo installation.

If $750 hits you as high, your in trouble if you take your motor to a rebuilder.
