Default What type EGT probes

I just put new stainless marine exhaust on my 516 BBC and I have a place on each side for 02 and EGT sensors and I was trying to find out which probes to use. I was thinking about getting 02 probes and a monitor to run them for setup in different altitudes and upgrades. any info will help.

I like this place for EGT gauges

What I like about it is you can order extra length wire to extend the probe, mine goes all the way to the dash.

I also have Stainless marine exhaust

Most AFR gauges use Bosh 02`s .

If I had EGT gauges on the motor that detonated I probably could have caught it in time .

EGTs drop in temperature when you detonate.

You`re right, it causes overheating but the EGTs go down.
Maybe it wasn`t detonation, I have no broken ring lands
or pitting of the piston crown just scuffed piston skirts.

Side note:

Ryan Retter pointed me towards this .. thought it was interesting since you can find the knock frequency for any particular engine.

That's a nice piece would pay for itself on one bad load of fuel.
