Im sure haxby is capable of forming his own opinion. He simply asked if foxwell had flowed a set of 325 afrs.

Just a quick FYI. If you're going to use the Merc oil pain and dipstick, the EQ heads do not have the 1/4 20 hole in the head to the upper right hand side of the exhaust port and you'll need to drill and tap the head.

It's an easy fix, just an FYI for those who are adding these heads.

^^^ I used a step bit, opened the hole up on the dipstick hanger and moved it to the front

Makes sense. These are MPI engines so there's a lot of bracketry up there.

Same issue with my Dart 308s. I just used the bolt that holds the fuel water separator to its bracket mount. One other annoying thing is all the accessories on the GM heads were 7/16 bolts, and the Darts are all 3/8. Just adds more time especially when doing two engines.

A good amt of other Aftermarket heads do this too.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the purchase. While they flow better than my old heads, I like that but more importantly though, I am much more happy about the work setting the heads up this time around.

Last shop, I paid good money, like 2500 to rebuild two sets of dart heads for me. They installed new valve seats, which was half azzed done, weren't even the right seats for those heads, they probably had them laying around the shop, and installed them. Install heights were all over the map, some at 2.020, some at 2.050 , some at 2.000, not a single shim anywhere to make up any differences. Using a .680 ID locator, with a .740 spring inner ID, which was causing the spring to wear on the valve seals, retainers and locators showed signs of severe spring rotation, cutting into the steel on them. and set the springs up over 1/4 inch from coil bind.

The new shop I used, set everything up beautifully. No more varying install heights, springs setup .090 from coil bind. Each spring was individually tested for consistant pressure, and coil bind , which actually resulted in finding 1 incorrect spring in the batch of 32 that got slipped in the new packaging.

We opted to run without the little spring on the exhaust valve seals, like merc did on their supercharged engines, getting a little more oil to the ex guides. Added stud girdles, and replaced the crane alum rockers with Comp's new Ultra Pro Mag XD steel rockers.

I think steel rockers are the way to go. Bad application for aluminums fatigue life.

If you get your valvetrain sorted and spin those babies up, you should make some big power.
