I did this last years with a couple boats. Upgraded the race boat bat's and then the old ones go in the next boat and so on and so on. The oldest battery (6 years) out of 8 swapped around that was still 100% was a Kirkland brand from Costco.

Sam's club has Duracell branded marine batteries at the best prices I could find last year. Even had really good prices on the AGM batteries. There are only 2-3 real battery manufacturers out there and most brands just are different stickers. If I recall correctly Duracell brand is made by Deka, who also makes NAPA batteries.

All my battery issues vanished years ago when I switched to deep cycle batteries for starting.

Most exide batteries I have seen leak acid around the terminals I wont buy them anymore.

Interstate batteries have always worked great for me. Never had one fail that wasn't at least 5 years old.

The key is how they are cared for IMO.

I heard Costco was now selling Interstate marine batteries, but I can't confirm that. That's where I'll be looking first when the time comes.
