Thank you, I have 2 manuals. One onboard paper and one on DVD. Maintenance requirements all highlighted.

Ok, so the seal only separates water from fuel/oil and there's no fail safe to keep fuel out of the oil? Just have to keep changing it and pray for the bearing?

I just installed Hardin SS housings (OE looked to be original at 20 yrs./235 hrs) but I'll be replacing the impeller once/yr.

there is a Mercruiser Manual all by itself that goes into very detail for the full disassembly and reassembly plus all the rebuild part numbers to perform the task 100 percent completely.

Well , there has to be a diaphragm in the mechanical fuel pump. If you are getting a lot of leakage I would replace the mechanical pump.

10-4, so the pump diaphragm is not serviceable I guess, that's too bad.
