It sounds like some of the fastest rigs at the shootout have pretty similar setups. 572-588s with PSI blowers. Nothing particularly wild about that. Probably just really good components and turned up to kill.

American ethanol was the only boat with really wild piston power.

Those are some pretty wild setups where I'm from. What were you expecting to see?

One of my all time favorite different/unique combos that I got to see run was Brendan's 2JZ powered Eliminator. Super nice guy, and I'd love to see him stick one of his drag car setups in another boat, since this one is sold.

You have to remember, the outdrives can only handle so much. Question,like everyone else is, how much are you willing to put in frt of them.

And, this is an acceleration contest of sorts, and most of the big boys where still accelerating across the finish line....so, they weren't using all the power they may have had.

PSI's are big screw blowers than can handle,I believe,up to like 50psi.

the wild thing about this boat was it has 4 engines and 2 drives . each set of motors were attached at the cranks to make them a v16 style powerplant

One thing I notice at drag race tracks is a lot of big cubic inch engines between 700 and 900 cubic inches. I would think they would be huge money to build compared to a blown 565 of similar power, so it must be rule driven? Just don't see that with boats.
