My first Fountain was a 96 38 Fever with 500's and the small steps. Fountain claimed it would run 81 but the best I ever saw was 78. I took it back to Fountain and we installed Stellings extension boxes and when they got done they said it ran 87 with 4 blade Intimidator props. Went and picked it up and ran it there and got 86 mph. Back home on Lake Michigan it would run 85 any day but no more. Can't prove it now obviously but that is what it did.
Next had a 03 525 semi stagger and after a couple of years of playing with props and adding extension boxes it ran upper 90's and ran 94 in the Shootout so that can be verified.
Never touched the engines on either boat.

89mph, missed my goal this year by 1 mph but maybe it`s 89.9 mph ...or 89.01 ... I don`t have a fancy GPS like Joe with all kinds of fancy decimal points and stuff.
She`d go a bit faster in some Cig water. which the River of the Ozarks isn`t. She likes about a 3` chop to loosen her fata$$ up, get some air under that hull.

the gain is in you can raise x dim and putting the props back a bit ( like arneson) helps. But the boat can be scarey in the handling dept. Like this, One of the reasons imcos are faster. They have a 6 .5 inch skeg. Sporties have 8 inch. But sporties offer more control
