Best EFI System for Big Block Chevy- 1200hp+
#31
Trying to get the 1200 hp with a engine that will run on pump gas from the regular gas station none of that racing fuel here.I dont have a choice of heads just something with great flow.
One thing I am trying learn more about is the compression ratio I need for this build, should be less than 10 or 9.5 for a procharged engine making about 8-10 boost.

I did my engines back in 02 to 06, broke some parts learning, ended up a bit more than 1200hp, I think it would be easier to make HP now with the improvements that have been made on cylinder heads. I still wouldn't use Chinese parts other than a last resort. Best of luck to you.

Ok I have the short blocks ready now and the heads are next, but thinking about what my solution will be on the injection. From reading here the HP EFI and Dominator are the 2 options holley offers with multiport injection like I want.Waht is the difference between the HP EFI and Dominator , different software one has better quality? How to decide

The HP is plenty for Marine use, and probably the more common one. It will do anything you need in a boat and more. The dominator has more features and the ECU is physically bigger. The Additional features are mostly auto based, Line lock, fans, shift points, stuff that you would never need on a boat. I had probably the most complete Holley HP marine set up there is, and I never ran out of things to geek out on. Good luck.
