Eliminator garage scene
1 Attachment(s)
This my winter project. 95 Eliminator 250 eagle no motor or drive or stereo. If you guys like it I'll keep putting up pictures? In this photo the speakers are missing primarily because the grills where hitting peoples knees and the shifter mechanism and were all beat up. :(
|
Transom with holes in it. It looks lonely does'nt it? 2 sets of exhaust holes, old drew stabilizer holes, and the speedo that was ripped out. Greg

Frankenstiens brain awaiting the electrical shock to start it beating again! I might be boating by January!@#$%^?
|
Greg,
The boat looks good....looks like a fun winter project! If you need any help or would like company keeping the boat warm this winter....give me a holler. Would love to see that procharged beast in the 25'! Should be a fun ride taking you easily into the upper 80's I would guess??? Lots of work before you are ready for water though. Love the pictures and keep us updated. Dave |
I want to know about its Brain!!!!tell us about your ProCharger set-up.....
|
Greg - Looks like you're going to have fun this winter! Nothing like having a high performance project to sit and drink... I mean think about. Would you mind posting a few more pictures of the engine. How do you route the hose from the intercooler to the carb box? (You know why I'm asking.) In about a week I should have similar pictures to show you of the improved intercooler setup. Good luck; glad to see you have hydraulic steering.

Dave, That motor in this boat ran 90 mph with 2 guys 470# a cooler full of beer, with a full tank of gas. Both the Stingray and the Eliminator weigh about the same except that the Stingray had a rounded keel, vs. the Eliminators big pad and double step bottom.
Tomcat, more pictures of the intercooler to come. Boat went to the fiberglass shop this morning for touchup on the transom so I wont have any new photos until friday or tuesday. Dyno, more on the motor to come 502" Brodix BB2 plus ported heads, crane hyd. roller cam, Idles at 700 no problem. Greg |
Greg,
That's pretty impressive numbers....should be a fun ride....was it stable at that speed or did you get a little chine walk? By the way, who is doing the fiberglass repair for you? MORE MORE MORE Power!!!!! Should be a fun summer next year! Looking forward to going out with you! |
Dave, No chine walk but it was loose. I straightened the bottom of that boat. D & S Marine in Roscoe Il. 815-623-6846. Yes I'd like to get together sometime, maybe a beer or/and wings or something. I live just 2 minutes off of I-90.

I took this WPM steering out of that red boat Ive got it for sale if your interested. Its a year old sells new for $2477 Its yours for $1200 Full hydraulic unit i;ncludes steering wheel. Greg

In the motor pic, your EMI exhaust. Is that a extension you put on the end of the riser? or not
Travis |
D&S do some amazing work that's for sure. I'll be visiting them over the winter myself actually! We'll get together and talk boats sometime this winter!
|
Yes those are the extentions everyone talks about. I'm going to have to cut those off though on this set up. Praying for no reversion. It idles down low without lope. Greg:confused:
|
Thats what I have to do to my EMI's over the winter.. I got away without reversion so far, but with this bigger cam i think extension's are in need..
Thanks bro. Travis |
That exhaust seems awful low on the transom dont you think?
looks like it would come out under the water line?? Good luck with it Jason |
Jay,
It does come out below the water line. My wife likes that, Soooo... I do too. Get it? Oh well. If mama aint happy....... I wont be able to hear the cam at idle. The other holes are for cmi's that I dont have, and right now cant afford. Ill show you the elbows. Traviss my cam is a crane hyd roller 236/244 610/632 114 and idled smoothly. Greg |
My cam in my 383 right now is a crane roller 222/230 .543/.563 lift on a 112, with only 4 degrees of overlap. I get a little water in the bottom of my manifolds, and the gasket is brand new.. so i don't know what else it would be  The new cam which is a crane roller too. 234/242 .575/.595 lift on a 112 with 14 degrees of overlap. I think i might put extensions on to be safe.. ;)

Steering
Hey Hp Junkie
I would like that Steering you have. Please e-mail at [email protected] or my work cell # 727-804-6078 Thanks John (Home # 727-391-1312) |
Greg, great looking boat, I like the graphics. I took my 97' Eliminator Eagle 250 for another test on Saturday. I was more happy with the top end but I do not think I'm going into the 90's with my 502 mag procharged(5 l.b.s. boost) m-3 efi. You asked for more info., here is the data.... 1.5/1 Bravo I .... 30p. Bravo I prop stock..... X dimension=6.75"......full tank of gas....full interior with all the equipment.....temp=65....flat water.....1 person..... 86.2 m.p.h. at 4850... the boat has awesome acceleration to 80 m.p.h. then takes another 15 seconds to get to 86. It is almost like it hits some kind of wall at 80. It did have a tendency to chine walk... I guess that external steering you have for sale might help that! The boat with stock would go 74. Eric
|
KY,
Is that 5 psi in the intake? After the throttle body? That wall might be the foundation to the U.S. treasury vault!! The guys around here that have been in my boat before I owned it say it has to be driven. I really wanted a Velocity and everyone said that about those hulls. I think it is the pad bottom. Yes to the steering. My guess it would improve the feel by at least 60 percent. Anybody else on this? You say 6.75 is that from the bottom of the boat to the cinter of the prop shaft? My X from the crankshaft to the bottom of the boat is 16". Eliminator said I could go up 1 more inch, and 2 more inches if I wasn't concerned about turning, skiing or planing off with a load but only top speed. I like the 1" idea! I've never thought I'd wished I was 1" shorter before now!:p Traviss, How did you find out about the water in the manifold? Did you take them off after idling? Greg |
Ky ,
After I run my boat I plan to sharpen the steps and the lower chines on the hull. I've don this 2 times before and had good luck. I was able to pick up a solid 4 mph on an outboard 21 checkmate at 61 going up to 65-66. It was the most gratifying improvement I made. I hope to get 1-2 out of this boat. Funny thing the stingray 22' didnt go any faster at 65mph but it handled"crisper", maybe thats why it ran good at 85-90 mph. Greg |
Greg looks like you're going to have a great looking ride for next year. If you really want to go fast why don't you sell the procharger and buy my twin turbo setup you saw at Earhart's place this spring? You now have a boat that would handle the power and speed. You could make 900-1000 hp on pump gas!
Bill |
Bill do you still have that? What comes with that? You know I dont have a computer? What about the intercooler and throttle body and manifold? Is that Toms boat in Blue and black on the Ohio shootout thread? Call me about the turbo thing. Greg 815-218-1603

Well guys I'm back with some new photos. What a deal this lead to that and so on. Here we go. This is the old rear seat base. It wouldnt fit 1 single water ski. The next photo shows the new one that fits 5 skis!

This photo is kind of hard to make out but its the port side shelf and sub box that will be installed behind the side panels. The shelfs will be carpeted and the sub boxes will be sealed to the side panels. This photo is from above.

This is the flooring I had seen at the Chicago boat show in a Velocity and figured I could do it in my boat. The 2 things I wanted in my new boat were bolsters and a fiberglass cockpit liner. Didnt get either but Im doing the next best thing. Its now 1203am and most of my photos are downloaded at work so I will continue tommorrow.
