folks,
my my boat is 3 hours away and not running right. I'm planning to test fuel pressure and clean filters of the fuel pumps etc. I just got the service manual for my 2003 gen 2 cool fuel system. The manual references a fuel line to fuel rail removal tool. What is this tool and where can I get one?

I already googled it. Unfortunately the boat is 3 hours away so I can't look at it to see what type of lines are on the boat. I am trying to have all the tools I need with me. Does anyone know the tool required for a 2003 496 Mag? It's a gen 2 cool fuel system if that matters.

Always best to provide serial number
BUP is the guy to ask, or another which has removed, but it says to find locally so my assumption would be the regular auto type. I don't have the master kit but just have the white things on top and they have worked fine when needed

Yep, Autozone might rent one also. The female fuel line has little fingers, similar to a chinese finger trap. These lock onto the male barb of the fuel rail inlet. The tool slides over fuel rail and pushes into the female hose and unlocks the fingers.
Tip.... before disconnecting fuel line from rail, bleed pressure from schrader valve on fuel rail near the coolant expansion tank. Place a few rags under valve when doing this. Same for fuel hose to rail.
