I agree. Yet to remove all doubt, idle for 5 mins and remove a riser. Look down into the exhaust manifold. For better or worse your question will be answered.

@.050??
That is a lot of duration for that amount of lift. Hows the valve train like those ramps? Damn

This is my mark IV, 454, stroked and roller'ed to a 496. I have to say I didn't always build winners but I seemed to hit it right with this one. No reversion issues. Has a bit of a lope during idle but besides that.... Most everything is off the shelf. Open 118 heads but use +18 dome pistons making it about 9.5 to 1 so its even good with pump gas.

If one is measured at .004" and another at .006" you can't compare seat duration easily.

Edit: Also, I see f_inscreenname pic above has S pipes. These help stave off exhaust water reversion also.

Yeah I did see the S pipes after I posted and can see how they would help with reversion....good to know for future reference!

Its a hyd flat tappet cam and the numbers are similar to the Crane 420/525SC cam

Are you guys thinking this is to much cam?

You'll be fine like Griff said. Very similar to the 454/420 cam. I ran that cam in a rather stock 454/365 mag single engine boat and picked up 3 mph if I remember correctly. Been years however was a worthy swap running stock heads and exhaust.

http://supernova19.com/11c780e00.jpgThese elbows look like they would dump water in the motor every time you slow down.

getrdunn 12-17-2018 05:49 PM

Those aren't the ones in question though. Regardless just don't slow down. Hah.
