Those numbers are off for sure. However the fact remains NOW its at 55 mph with a 25p prop. Im trying to find out information from someone that understand prop slip, pitch, diameter vs weight to see if a 21p would possibly increase speed instead of the normal slowing it down.
Maybe due to being over propped or other factors. I dont believe the coupler is bad, two different props with different hubs yielded similar result that I would say is typical but both props do seem like its not grabbing water compared to the many other boats I have drove. Just feels like
Im not getting all the HP and RPMS to the water compared to the sound. It gets louder and you can feel a increase in speed but not much. i know its got more in it and im looking for someone that knows these boats for similar readings or possibilities/things to check. Im going to check
the upper drive ratio next I think.

Are you sure you have an accurate mph now? Are you sure your tach is accurate? Are you over trimming drive? How do you know the past owner was truthful in his 64mph reading?

Having owned a 225LPX with a 415hp 502, you will never, ever, see 70mph unless you’re towing. Low 60s is about as good as it will get, on a good day. And seems as though you have found that.
The hull is is not designed for it. As mentioned, a hopped up 225 from Ohio was able to break 70s and he never said it was enjoyable despite being able to run those speeds.
