Default Cam

Built a 496 with EQ heads and this roller cam. Running gill exhaust and the mercruiser wet risers. Wondering if anyone can tell me if reversion will be an issue? Was going to modify and make dry but if I don’t have to I won’t.

Original Hp500 had same exhaust but smaller cam with much less overlap and had reversion issues. Merc then came out with a much taller riser to create a larger rate of fall to combat this, merc still provided instructions how to clear out after extended idling.

Updated version:

Looked it up for the OP.... Looks like it's a Howards hydraulic roller - 114 LSA.
