It may take some getting used to , if you are planning on backing that boat into a slip , there was a cat at eagle point years ago that was running 2 roots 540's with surface drives , and it was on a lift , almost positive it was parked nose in.

Actually the boat will be a lot easier to handle around the docks than the B3's. Drivability is so much easier with the transmissions.

Going from a 47 with b3's to surface drives and still being ambitious about docking manners ,that's beyond impressive . The wellcraft conversion build , that is impressive too. I hope to see this vessel on lewy someday.that lake needs more special interest boats for sure

Right now, all the measurements indicate all should be straight, and the engines will mount on the pedestals pretty much as stock. Bob has taken great care to ensure alignment. Rik from Arneson has been involved as well to assist Bob. Thanks to Rik for being helpful and full of great info.

This has been a journey of many mistakes. It all started with a leaking transom assemblies and then of course the dreaded transom replacement. Everything was out, so why not a few upgrades.... 3 years later, we are getting very close to being back on the water. We had one short season with the big motors and the b3s and every time I took it out I assumed I was going to crater something. If all goes well, it will be fun, fast and full of rooster tails!

As a quick update, issues have been plaguing this project. As of this writing, it was all put together and ready to run in October of 2024. Maiden voyage was a disaster. Details will follow once I have gotten assurances from Plano Marine on what will be done to correct installation issues that caused transmission clutch failures.

I want to say more, but I cant at this time. With Texoma lake just starting to recede from another major flood, the boat yard has been unable to get much work done.

With all that has not gone well, even with all the help from so many, I find myself longing for the past when I had a light and fast runabout along side a comfortable pig of a cruiser.

I should have more info soon.
