How many hours before the failure? When Morels first came out as a "good" bbc lifter, I used them in quite a few builds , one was boosted to 13/14 psi and I turned it 6300 190/490 seat/open, id tear it down and freshen it at 100 to 120 hours, never had a lifter failure BUT I put new ones in at that point, Smitty

In regard to post #52 and #53 about the Morels they did warranty them both sets. They were sourced through Erson/PBM and they issued new cams as well. When I spoke with John Callies about them he was informative but I questioned the metallurgy and overall quality. He cut the conversation right there and warrantied the product. We use to run the Cranes years ago with no issues and much more spring pressure.

Not quite 400 hours. Roller failure is what I expected to see. When I saw that every single tie bar had "sawed" through the rivets until a few of them broke, I was a bit shocked.

I had a similar conversation with Troy Smith from Morel. John wanted me to send my lifters to him, but they never sent an address.. nobody ever followed through, Needless to say mine were not warrantied.

I cycled mine out as mentioned then resold them as used for about half cost of new with full disclosure they had a100 hrs of boosted marine use. The last customer i did a build with morels was in 2014, in 2020 at 180 hrs , he had similar damage to yours happen. I encouraged him BEFORE that to switch to johnsons after seeing mention of these failures on forum's.

Money and time well spent. A couple hours a season checking lash will be a piece of cake and might even increase power or stabilize on ext runs at the very least. Good luck and keep us up to date.
