Just put on a Oil Block Adaptor from hardin marine on my gen5 454 and noticed that it was still able to swivel when fully tightened which I though was odd but attached my other oil fitting and went to prime the engine using my drill attachment. Once I started to build pressure I notice a gargling sound and sure enough it was pissing oil from the adaptor. So couple questions.
- I am not crazy in thinking this adaptor should not swivel once fully torqued down correct ?
- Anything similar out there that is not hardin marine that people have had good luck with?

by hold down bolt i assume you mean the bolt that passes through the adaptor that should sandwich the adaptor to the block. If thats the case that what i was thinking is going on, bottoms out before engaging the oring to seal it to the block. But if thats the case, defective adaptor ? Or wrong fitting in block?

Some pics to help…
the silver thru bolt on the adaptor is bottoming out on the fitting on the block before the oring seals. Thinking a block fitting with no ‘hex’ would be the thickness i would need.
