Mercury doesn't really have a tool for the M6/NXT so the instructions are out of an old shop manual (which is where I got the idea in the first place)
would you know what the od is on that specific section.

it seems there is a step up

If his cad drawing is correct to scale it looks like 2" OD

I'm pretty sure that part of the drawing is a mistake. I will verify when I get to the shop later in the week.. When I made that Mercury didn't have a tool.

That Mercury part number looks like it will do the job. There are 6 pieces at the factory. I'm sure it's less expensive to buy that one.

We are closed until Jan 3 so you can get it faster from another dealer.

That's what we did made ours out of delrin.
