We all talk about how the Mercury intake stops flowing but they knew what most of these were going in, boats that spend most of their life in the 3000-4500 rpm range, and in that range they are pretty strong feeling.

My feeling is if you want to get in the 700 range its just easier to go boosted.

Agreed, that was with afr 305s, i changed out to afr 335s and put on whipple 4.0s and at 9.25 lbs boost im at near 1000 per side. cr is 8.1, had to switch to 93 with the 4.0s.
