Why don’t u just have the inner pipe extended so it just about goes through the transom. The hose will act as your outer wall . I have done this a few times for customers that did not to spring for new tail pipes . When they were experiencing reversion .

I have dry CMI. Separate water dumps. It’s loud by anyone’s standards, but I’m not sure it’s as obscene as people make it out to be. 800NA 565’s.

you certainly get used to it, and it doesn’t bother us, but my neighbors and the entire community knows when I’m boating. I will say we rarely run further than about 10-15 miles at a time. We are one of about 3 go-fasts in the area. The other two are fountains with molded platform and traditional exhaust and are considerably quieter.

i will say Helmwurst need to get his hearing checked!! You can hear it for miles and miles and miles. When we leave lunch and run 5-7 miles out of the York River friends have told me they hear me all the way out of the river, around the bend to my house which is a couple more miles depending on wind.

you will make a few enemies, but you will make a lot of kids’ day!!

I have CMI Etops that are dry and dump water right at the end of the tails outside the transom. The water really doesn't mix wit the exhaust. I have switchable mufflers on the ends of the tails. Closing them takes a lot of bark off the exhaust sound at idle and slow cruise speeds. I also close the mufflers when coming off plane to prevent reversion from my own wake

Ok yall win

I think I知 just gonna do dry Risers my next question ( sorry I知 learning here and have a few questions) where are you guys dumping the water that cools them? At the transom somewhere or off port and starboard side? Also another dumb question is there an individual dump for each pipe? Or do you plumb two for each engine into one dump on each side? What did you use? Size , fittings etc etc?

thanks guys I guess she will be noisy but myself likes it so the heck with it haha!

LOL. Yea my hearing does suck these days. That was several years ago when it was pretty sharp. Hearing him for 2 miles was like he was sitting out in front of my house. And we have hills and lots of trees. Love the statement though, my GF says that all the time. I think it is just her octave. Tom FTM has a great suggestion, but I think that takes a pretty good welder/craftsman to do that.

I have seen it done a couple ways, one is individual dumps for each pipe, my buddy (RIP) used to like to put them out the starboard side so you could take a quick look and see the water dump.

Then there is just a small hole in the bottom of each pipe so the last bit of water will run out when the motors are shut off and to keep some cooling going to the very end.

Others put dumps on the transom side and just aim away from the end of the pipes. Still need the little drain on the bottom, we boat in salt here.

You are still running the tails 20% wet, right? You need water to cool the tails and not melt the hose.
